Satoka Abo

Satoka Abo is a violinist in the first violin section of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. A member of the OSM since 2025, she earned a post-graduate Artist Diploma from McGill University’s Schulich School of Music under Jinjoo Cho, a Master’s degree in music from the Yale School of Music with Syoko Aki and Soovin Kim, and a Bachelor’s degree in music from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied with Ivan Zenaty and Ilya Kaler.

A pivotal moment in her musical journey was attending a concert by violinist Midori — it was this experience that convinced her to become a violinist herself!
