André Moisan
Internationally renowned for his technical mastery, fine musicality, and the clarity of his playing, André Moisan has been an avid performer since 1977, both in concert and on radio broadcasts, as a soloist, chamber musician, and member of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM).
His numerous concerts abroad, notably at Carnegie Hall, the Royal Concertgebouw and broadcast on Radio Berlin have earned him the stature of a leading performer. He has had the privilege of performing solo with the OSM under the direction of renowned conductors including Charles Dutoit, Zubin Mehta, Kent Nagano, and Pierre Boulez.
Principal Saxophone and Bass Clarinet with the OSM since 1999, André Moisan is also Associate Professor at the Faculty of Music of Université de Montréal. An accomplished ensemble leader and pedagogue, he has on several occasions directed the OSM between 1998 and 2008, as well as the Orchestre symphonique de Québec (OSQ). He has performed throughout the world, taking part in twenty tours, and has given numerous lectures and master classes.
