Anwar Saidi
Moroccan-born cellist Anwar Saidi studied at the Rabat Conservatory and subsequently at the École internationale de Musique et de danse before perfecting his art in master classes with Emmanuelle Bertrand and Marc Coppey. He was awarded the Prix Spécial du meilleur espoir marocain and has won several competitions for young artists. As a soloist, he performs with the Moroccan Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ceuta International Symphony Orchestra, as well as being highly active as a chamber musician. He has collaborated with renowned artists such as Reda Bennani and David Grimal and is a member of the Madvic Quartet. Anwar Saidi is Principal Cello of the Orchestre philharmonique du Maroc and Principal Cello of the Orchestre philharmonique du Haut-Saint-Jean. He teaches cello and string conducting for the Sistema-New Brunswick program.
