Vincent Boilard
Vincent Boilard hails from Mont-Joli, a small town in Eastern Quebec. He received a diploma of higher education from the Conservatoire de musique de Québec, his teacher being Philippe Magnan. He holds a Master of Arts in Performance from the Haute École de musique de Genève, where he studied with many of today’s great oboe masters such as Roland Perrenoud and Maurice Bourgue. Laureate of several competitions (the Prix d’Europe, OSM Competition), Vincent Boilard became in 2015 Associate Principal Oboe at the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. He was previously Second Oboe/English horn in the Orchestre symphonique de Sherbrooke and in the Orchestre symphonique de Laval. He is teaching at the Université de Montréal since 2015. His most recent recording, Lumières nordiques on the Atma label won the Opus Prize in the category “Modern Music.” The recording results from his collaboration with the Quatuor Molinari and showcases the talent of Canadian composers.
