From August 14 to 18, 2024

From Spain to the Middle East, through Italy and Greece, the OSM will showcase a rich tapestry of musical cultures with around sixty free activities including an opera screening, musical yoga, a fusion of classical and electronic music with the MUTEK festival, a performance by the famous Symphonie de la Virée, and scores of family activities. Eight ticketed concerts will feature stellar artists as part of an innovative and captivating program that promises a host of exciting discoveries.

The Virée classique opens with the traditional concert at the Olympic Park’s Esplanade on August 14, and closes with Verdi’s majestic Requiem at Place des Arts. Bookended by these two performances, concerts will be presented at the Maison symphonique and the Cinquième salle. The lineup will feature the OSM under the baton of Rafael Payare, soprano Joyce El-Khoury, mezzo-soprano Rihab Chaieb, composer and oud player Joseph Tawadros, global classical guitar sensation Miloš, the ensemble Constantinople, and the ensemble Obiora, among other guest artists.

This summer, music will bring people together like never before, shining the spotlight on many of Montreal’s diverse communities.
