In this enticing program of rarely heard works, experience the velvet tones and expressive intensity of the cello in a treasure trove of pieces for 2, 3, or 4 instruments. Franchomme’s transcriptions highlight the momentous depth of Chopin, while lesser known but sumptuous works by Offenbach, himself an accomplished cellist, deserve a much wider public recognition.
